RULES OF ENTRY for the Girona Counties G!

Awards for Tourism Communication 2013 The Girona Counties G! Awards for Communication are annually granted awards that the Costa Brava Girona Tourism Board created in order to acknowledge and reward the dissemination, promotion and recommendation work done by journalists worldwide for the benefit of travellers and of the tourist industry.

Participants

This invitation to enter is open to all natural or legal persons (i.e. individuals and companies) who present original work done on any communication medium (e.g. the printed press, radio, television, Internet and literary or cinematographic production) that fosters and disseminates the wealth, diversity and quality of the Girona counties’ tourism resources and products and provides publicity for the “Costa Brava” and/or “Pirineu de Girona” trademarks. Three categories of prizes are awarded: – Works published in audiovisual media (radio, television, cinema) – Works published in print media (newspapers, magazines, guides, books) – Works published in digital media (posts on blogs, Web page articles, videos and contributions on social channels)

Special conditions

For the purposes of the award, consideration will be given to original works published or broadcast between 1 September 2012 and 31 August 2013, in any language and in any part of the world.

Deadline for presenting applications and documentation

Proposals may be presented up to 12 September 2013 at the headquarters of the Costa Brava Girona Tourism Board (Patronat de Turisme Costa Brava Girona, Av. de Sant Francesc, 19, 4t, 17001 Girona – Spain). Entering for the awards involves fully accepting these rules and the verdict of the jury. Those who submit works recognised and awarded prizes likewise provide their authorisation for such works to be publicly disseminated through the communication channels of the Board. The candidature form, duly completed, shall have to be accompanied by the original works or a copy thereof in the case of radio and television.

Awards

Works awarded prizes in the audiovisual and print media shall receive a prize of 6,000 euros each, while the amount set for the digital media category is 4,000 euros. The jury reserves the right to declare the award void if it feels that none of the works presented sufficiently merit the distinction to be awarded.

Evaluation criteria

The jury will evaluate the works presented in accordance with the criteria of drafting/production style, photograph and audiovisual images, originality, creativity, informative value and truthfulness.

Composition of the jury

The jury will be headed by the President of the Costa Brava Girona Tourism Board and will be made up of persons designated by the Advisory Committee from among figures of recognised prestige in the various media spheres.

Verdict

The jury will meet and will issue its verdict for the Girona Counties G! Awards for the Best Tourism Communication. The jury’s verdict is final and will be made public during the prize-giving ceremony of the Girona Counties Tourism Awards, organised annually by the Costa Brava Girona Tourism Board. In the light of the characteristics of the work and in accordance with the very philosophy behind the award, the Board may promote any initiatives necessary in order to disseminate it among society as a whole.
