The awards are divided into four categories:

  • Climent Guitart G! Award for the ‘Most Inspirational Showcasing of the Costa Brava and/or Girona Pyrenees’ Values and Tourist Attractions’.
  • G! Award for the ‘Most Original and Innovative Content about the Costa Brava and/or Girona Pyrenees’ Range of Tourist Options’.
  • G! Award for the ‘Best Tourist Experience on the Costa Brava and/or in the Girona Pyrenees’.
  • G! Award for the ‘Best Sustainable Tourism Activity and/or Experience on the Costa Brava and/or in the Girona Pyrenees’.

Entry period and documentation

Entries for the competition can be submitted until 4 November 2024 using the registration form provided by the organisation. The completed form should be accompanied by the original piece of work (in PDF/JPEG/TIFF/MP3/MP4/AVI/WMV formats) by email to premsa@costabrava.org or including a link to the website where it is available. Candidates who prefer may present their work in person at the offices of the Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board at Avinguda de Sant Francesc, 29, 3rd floor, 17001 Girona (Catalonia), Spain. There is no limit to the number of works that each candidate can submit.

Participation in the awards competition implies full acceptance of these rules and of the jury’s decision. Additionally, by entering, the candidate authorises the Tourist Board to publicly disseminate the award-winning works through its communication channels.

Prize money

The winning pieces of work will each receive a prize of 3,000 euros. The jury reserves the right to declare the award void if, in its opinion, none of the works presented meet the minimum standard required to merit the award.

The winner in each category must provide a copy of their Spanish ID card/foreign resident ID number/passport, in the case of individuals, or a Spanish Fiscal Identification Number (NIF), in the case of legal entities, prior to receiving their prize money. In both cases the winner must also provide a bank account holder’s certificate. The prize cannot be shared between two or more participants unless specifically requested beforehand in the candidate section of the application form.

Evaluation criteria

The jury will evaluate the works presented in accordance with criteria of writing/production style, the quality of the photographic and audiovisual images, tone, originality, creativity, informative value and veracity. It will also take into account the functionality of the work for the user.

Members of the jury

The jury will be made up of a representative of the Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board’s management team, or a person delegated by them, who will act as chairperson; members appointed by the Board chosen from among recognised and experienced professionals in different areas of communication; and the Board’s head of media, who will not vote, but will manage the contest.

Verdict

The jury will meet to vote and issue its verdict on the Girona Counties G! Tourism Communication Awards. The jury’s verdict is final and will be publicly announced during the Girona Counties G! Tourism Communication Awards ceremony, organised annually by the Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board. Depending on the nature of the work and in accordance with the philosophy of the awards, the Tourist Board may apply all necessary initiatives to disseminate it to the public.
