RULES OF ENTRY FOR THE GIRONA COUNTIES G! AWARDS FOR THE BEST TOURISM COMMUNICATION 2019
The Girona Counties G! Tourism Communication Awards are granted annually by the Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board to acknowledge and reward the work that journalists around the world do to publicise, promote and recommend the destination for the benefit of travellers and the tourism industry.
This competition is open to all natural or legal persons (i.e. individuals and companies) who submit original work published or broadcast on any communication media (print media, radio, television, the internet, works of literature, film productions, etc.) that promotes and publicises the wealth, diversity and quality of the Girona counties’ tourism resources and products and showcases the “Costa Brava” and/or “Pirineu de Girona” brands.
There are four award categories:
- Works published in audiovisual media (radio, television, cinema)
- Works published in print media (printed newspapers, magazines, books and guides)
- Written works published in digital media (digital newspapers, digital magazines, blogs and ebooks)
- Audiovisual works published in digital media (videos and podcasts)
Original works published or broadcast from 1 September 2018 and 31 August 2019, in any language and in any part of the world, can be entered.
Deadline for submitting applications and documentation
Proposals must be submitted to the headquarters of the Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board (Patronat de Turisme Costa Brava Girona, Av. de Sant Francesc, 29, 3a, 17001 Girona – Spain) before 3 September 2019.
Participation implies full acceptance of these rules and the jury’s final decision. Candidates likewise authorise the Tourist Board to share the recognised and rewarded works on its communication channels.
The duly-completed application form must be accompanied by the original works or a copy in the case of radio and television.
Works awarded in the audiovisual and print media category will receive a prize of 5,000 euros each, while the prize in the category of written and audiovisual digital media is set at 3,000 euros each.
The jury reserves the right to not select a winner if it believes none of the entries sufficiently merit the award.
The jury will judge the entries according to writing/production style, photographic and audiovisual images, originality, creativity, informative value and accuracy.
Composition of the jury
The jury will be headed by a representative of the Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board and will be made up of persons designated by the Advisory Committee from among figures of recognised prestige in the various media spheres.
The jury will meet and issue its verdict for the Girona Counties G! Tourism Communication Awards. The jury’s verdict is final and will be announced during the award ceremony organised annually by the Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board. Depending on the characteristics of the work and in line with the very philosophy behind the award, the Board may promote any initiatives necessary to share the winning work with society as a whole.

The winners of the G! Tourism Communication Awards, as well as the winners of the G! Tourism Awards 2019 in the honorary categories and the winner of the Yvette Barbaza Research Award, will be publicly acknowledged at a ceremony.
